THRIP, Research contracts, Innovation fund and BRICS at SU are coordinated by Mrs Cornelia Malherbe from the Division for Research Development and involves the following:

• Coordination of all aspects of the THRIP-program, which includes the liaision with SU-researchers and -management, Department of Trade and Industry and the NRF.
• Coordination of the SU contract research management system, which includes the procedural clearance of research contracts, assistance to researchers to calculate the cost and price of a research contract, research levy aspects for research funds, policy development and implementation thereof, the maintenance of contract research statistics.
• Coordination of all aspects of the Innovation fund-program, which includes the liaision with SU-researchers and -management, Department of Science and Technology and the NRF.
• Coordination of all aspects of the BRICS-program (LIFELab, PlantBio, Cape BioTech Trust, BioPAD), which includes the liaision with SU-researchers and -management, Department of Science and Technology and the CBI- and BIOPAD-offices.
