The South African Theatre Journal (SATJ) aims at providing a forum for the academic discussion of theatre and performance studies and the performing arts, especially as they manifest themselves in Southern Africa. The publication features articles on the history, theory and practice of the performing arts, as well as the methodology of theatre research. It also contains theatre reports, book reviews, commentary and general announcements. Since it is the major aim of the Journal to foster multi-and inter-disciplinary study in the performing arts, contirbutions are invited from all writers interested in the subject, irrespective of their specific disciplines.
