The department of philosophy presents a large variety of courses at different levels of study. These form part of the University of Stellenbosch's programme-based teaching approach. How philosophy fits into this approach will be explained below. For detailed information on the content of courses please select either undergraduate or postgraduate courses.

Philosophy at Stellenbosch Philosophy can be followed as major or as supporting subject in different B.A.-degree programmes and can lead to further study and research within the subject itself. It can be fruitfully combined with various other fields of study at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, especially with languages and the social sciences.
