Industrial Psychology

No organisation can function effectively without productive employees. The key to the economic survival of organisations and our country therefore lies in the optimal development and utilization of South Africa's most precious resource, namely its workers. This is exactly the focus of Industrial Psychology: the optimal development and utilization of human resources in the work situation. Industrial Psychology is not only an exciting, dynamic and growing science, but also plays a key role in the economic progress of organisations and our country.
The Department of Industrial Psychology, the first of its kind to be founded in South Africa, has established a distinguished tradition of academic excellence over the years and continues to strive to provide all sectors of the South African economy with top quality graduates. This department is proud of the fact that many of its graduates are employed in top leadership and business positions both in the public and private sectors. Lecturers who are acknowledged scientists, but who also have extensive practical experience teach the students of the Department of Industrial Psychology. Moreover, the Department boasts the most modern training and research facilities, especially in the field of computer and information technology.
