The
Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences, the largest faculty within
the University, is a vibrant and innovative environment. The constantly
growing student body, both under- and post graduate, the quality of
students and the concomitant demand for US graduates, both within and
outside the country's borders, can be ascribed to the ability to
continually adapt and adjust to change.
Applied
research and an impressive network of national and international
contacts in both the academic and the business worlds, supported by
modern electronic facilities and run by a highly skilled and capable
corps of lecturers and researchers, supplemented by a large external
body of specialists and practitioners in the form of guest lecturers,
remain the key to the prominence of the faculty and underpins the
striving towards quality and relevance.
Training in the economic sciences prepares students for a wide variety of professional and other posts in the business world.
The
faculty, which has already delivered many prominent business leaders
and entrepreneurs, continues to experience a strong flow of brilliant
students to whom quality training by way of excellent degree programme
is provided. The faculty, as a centre of excellence, is therefore well
equipped to prepare its students for the challenges posed by the
workplace and to serve the South African community and more
specifically the business community in particular.
