The Clinical Skills Centre (CSC) is an academic support facility where resources are used to assist students to reach competency in the psychomotor and affective outcomes of the different curricula present of the Faculty of Health Sciences. These outcomes include skills in communication, clinical examination methods and procedures. The resources include anatomic models and simulators, audiovisual equipment in consultation rooms with observation rooms behind one-way glass and computer equipment. Students get the opportunity to watch clinical skills with the aid of computer technology, to attend demonstrations by lecturers, and to take part in activities under the guidance of a lecture or tutor, followed by doing it themselves and practising of the skills.

The CSC consist of the following areas:
- Approriately equiped areas arranged in such a way that students can practice their clinical examination skills on manikins and simulators.
- Consulting and examination rooms with adjacent observation rooms behind a one-way glass window, where small groups of 15 - 20 students can observe the taking of a medical history and examination procedures. These rooms are equipped with state-of-the-art audio and video recording equipment for replay and discussion.
- A multipurpose area of 140 m2 equipped with examination couches, bed screens, chairs, flip charts and overhead projection facilities.
- A well equipped theatre with an anaesthetic machine and defibrillator to use on an Advanced Life support model, which can simulate a variety of cardiac dysrythmias.
Although these activities will not replace any clinical education at the bedside and with real patients, all students have the opportunity to be prepared for a safer working environment in a relaxed atmosphere. Further more respect and understanding for the different roles of the healthcare workers in a multi- disciplinary healthcare team are encouraged here.
