HREC 2:
HREC 2
Both HREC 1 and HREC2 will review the full range of health research involving human subjects currently conducted under the auspices of Stellenbosch University. HREC 2 will meet on the 3rd Wednesday of every month. Mertrude Davids will act as Secretary to this Committee. All active and approved research, including all research with approval pending that previously fell under the jurisdiction of the Committee for Human Research; will fall under the jurisdiction of HREC2. Meetings will be held every month except January and July.
NB: Researchers do not need to apply to a specific REC for a new application but will use one generic application form for all types of research and for both committees. Their application will be allocated to the next available open agenda. Every effort will be made to shorten ethics review turn-around-time.
