biomedical sciences ::  Medical Physiology

Medical Physiology is the systematic study of the normal functions of the various systems of the body, as well as to how these systems interact with one another. Because of this, the subject remains the cornerstone of medicine.

The discipline of Medical Physiology contributes substantially to the teaching of medical students and students in the professions allied to medicine. Because of its vibrant research activities, the discipline is a major source of postgraduate qualifications every year. The chief research themes are Cardiovascular Physiology, Diabetes, Reproductive Physiology and Neurophysiology.
