Frederic obtained his B.Medical Sciences at the Medical Faculty of the University of Lubumbashi (DR Congo), after which he did his B Sc (Honours) in Medical Biosciences at the University of the Western Cape (South Africa) where he was, at the same time, a part-time tutor assistant in Human Biology and Microbiology. He is currently investigating the effect of melatonin on the obese rat heart under the supervision of Professor Amanda Lochner.
