Current research comprises of the following:
Wellcome Trust funded research project:
The influence of solubilized homologuous zona pellucida on the human acrosome reaction, sperm-zona binding and motion characteristic of capacitated human spermatozoa.
Objectives:
- Acrosome responsiveness (AR) mediated by solubilized human zona pellucida, the results will be used to define;
- insufficient acrosome response i.e. where the difference between spontaneous and zona mediated AR is less that <10%,
- normal acrosome response where the difference between spontaneous AR and induced AR is >15%.
