Haematological Pathology involves the study of Haemtological diseases and the abnormalities in the haematological system as a result of other systemic diseases. It includes the laboratory investigations on blood cells, -plasma, bone marrow and other body fluids as supportive diagnosis in Medicine in general and specifically for the diagnosis of Haematological diseases, which include: Haematological malignancies: leukaemias and lymphomas, myeloproliferative diseases; anaemias: nutritional and haemolytic anaemias; haemostatic defects: bleeding tendencies and hypercoagulability; prenatal bloodgrouping and bloodgroup immunology.
