DEPARTMENT OF MERCANTILE LAW
The Department of Mercantile Law is the largest department in the Faculty of Law, incorporating the Centre for International and Comparative Labour and Social Security Law. Research within the department focuses particularly on alternative dispute resolution, banking law, company law, competition law, international trade law, insurance law, intellectual property law, information technology law, labour law, negotiable instruments and instruments of payment and guarantee. The department is also extensively involved in the LLM by Course Work programme. The Department is furthermore responsible for the lecturing of a number of compulsory and elective modules in the final two years of the LLB programme, as well as modules in the Faculty Economics and Management.
